The water solubility of PVA is different grade-by-grade. A low-viscosity grades more easily dissolves . However, as water solubility greatly depends on the saponification degree.Fully saponified type and quasi-fully saponified type: These types only swell in cold water, where they only slightly dissolve; however, they do dissolve in high-temperature water. Partially saponified types: A lower saponification degree causes them to dissolve in low-temperature water.
